Voltaren Heat Patch product details

  • Voltaren Heat Patches consist of:

    • A top layer of non-skin contact breathable film (non-woven fabric made of nylon/polyethene)
    • An inner pouch with a powder mix comprised of iron powder, water, activated carbon, vermiculite, sodium chloride, sodium thiosulfate, and crosslinked acrylic acid polymer
    • Skin contact non-breathable film, polyethylene (EVA 5%) / polyethylene / polyethylene terephthalate non-woven fabric
    • Medical skin contact-grade adhesive

  • The Heat Patch is for external use. Medical advice should be sought if after 7 days the pain gets worse or remains unchanged.

    Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over

    Tear open the sleeve just before use. No shaking of the Heat Patch is necessary. Remove the plastic backing then place the Heat Patch on the painful area, either the back, neck or shoulders, apply the adhesive side onto dry clean skin. Press firmly to make sure it is fixed correctly. The Heat Patch starts to heat up after a few minutes of opening. To remove the Heat Patch, peel it off slowly from one corner.

    The Heat Patch must not be left on the same area of skin for more than 8 hours in any 24-hour period, and no more than one Heat Patch per day on the same area of skin.

    The Heat Patch must not be used with other skin medications or other heat sources. The Heat Patch must not be reheated in the oven or microwave.

    The Heat Patch must not be cut, pierced or allowed to get wet.

    For single use.

  • Voltaren Heat Patch should be used with caution in patients who are or have:

    • Poor circulation (e.g. due to heart failure)
    • Pregnant
    • Neuropathy (e.g. due to diabetes)
    • Rheumatoid arthritis
    • Skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or who have very sensitive or delicate skin
    • Elderly (over 65 years) who are at a greater risk of having very delicate or sensitive skin

    Voltaren Heat Patches should not be used while sleeping. Patients should not lie on the Heat Patch or apply pressure during use (e.g. use the Heat Patch under a belt or bandage). 

    It should not be used:

    • If there has been a previous allergic reaction to a Heat Patch
    • On areas of skin where heat cannot be felt, or on damaged skin
    • On children under 12 years of age or persons unable to remove the Heat Patch on their own
    • On bruises or swellings within 48 hours of injury.

    This product may cause burns, local discomfort, swelling, rash. Use should be stopped and a doctor or pharmacist consulted if there is any discomfort, burning, swelling, rash or other changes in the skin that persist where the Heat Patch is applied.

    This Heat Patch contains iron. In case of ingestion of the powder in the Heat Patch, medical attention should be sought immediately. In case the powder in the Heat Patch comes into contact with the eyes or skin, these should be rinsed abundantly with water and medical attention sought.
