How to use
How to use the NicoDerm CQ Patch
Patients should begin using the NicoDerm CQ Patch on their planned quit date according to the dosing schedule above. When removing a patch, patients should fold the sticky ends of the used NicoDerm CQ patch together, replace in its pouch, and discard out of reach of children and pets.
Application and removal
Each day, patients should apply a new patch to a different place on their skin that is dry, clean, and hairless, holding for 10 seconds. They can wear the patch for 16 or 24 hours.
If a patient craves cigarettes when they wake up, they should wear the patch for 24 hours. However, if they begin to have vivid dreams or other sleep disruptions while wearing the patch for 24 hours, they can try taking the patch off after 16 hours before bedtime, and putting on a new one the next day.
To avoid possible burns, patients should remove the patch before undergoing any MRI procedures (opaque NicoDerm CQ patch only).
