In patients suffering from periodontal diseases, the dentition may be severely affected due to severe bone resorption and tooth loss which can cause functional impairment of oral functions. This problem significantly diminishes the Quality of Life (QoL) of patients. This lecture will highlight the importance of rehabilitation in patients with periodontitis, understanding the clinical challenges and Supportive Periodontal Therapy (SPT) as part of the successful treatment.
