Sodium Bicarbonate Toothpaste: Corsodyl Science
Corsodyl’s 67% sodium bicarbonate toothpaste enhances physical removal of plaque achieved by brushing2
Sodium bicarbonate penetrates the plaque layer, disrupting the sticky polysaccharide matrix and loosening the structural integrity of the biofilm, enhancing the physical removal of plaque.2
- Targets plaque bacteria build-up along the gum lineSodium bicarbonate is shown to reduce the bond strength between dental plaque bacteria and the tooth surface2
- Tackles the main cause of bleeding gumsCorsodyl Daily Toothpaste with sodium bicarbonate removes more plaque than non-sodium bicarbonate toothpastes, especially in hard-to-reach areas1,3
Sodium bicarbonate facilitates plaque biofilm removal2
In an in vitro study, confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) images of 14-day biofilms (green in images) showed that 67% sodium bicarbonate treatment removed a large proportion of biofilm growth. Prior to treatment, CLSM revealed a substantial multilayered structure in the mature biofilms, which was reduced to a single layer of cells after treatment with 67% sodium bicarbonate.2
