Haleon: committed to support

Haleon takes its responsibility to support the appropriate use of medicines very seriously. This decision by the TGA to make changes to pack sizes and accessibility of paracetamol-containing products was made following the publication of an independent expert report examining the incidence of serious injury and death from intentional paracetamol overdose. Paracetamol is a medication that is widely used throughout the community. Although the outcomes from paracetamol overdoses are tragic, they are extremely rare when considering the volume of paracetamol sold in the community each year1 – it is important that we, as the industry leader, work collaboratively with Healthcare Professionals to implement the changes that will protect vulnerable members of our community.

We acknowledge the pivotal role you play in communicating quality use of medicines to patients and appreciate your support to ensure continued availability and a smooth transition.

Panadol is Australia’s #1 and most trusted pain relief brand†; suitable for 98% of Australian adults.2 The formulation of Panadol products remains unchanged. Accessibility to and pack sizes of Panadol Osteo, Children’s Panadol liquid and suppository formats will not change.
